War – The words of a Warhero
‘War hero‘ they used to call me. Those medals I had won, the higher ranks I got, the compliments, the applauds, the salutes felt good at that time. But now every time when my eyes shut I still see a finger pulling the trigger. I can still feel the heat of firing and massive explosion. The faces of women and children screaming, begging for their life. They always haunted me, I wanted to kill myself for this.
Today’s warfare wasn’t like the old-fashioned one. When the kings used to fight along with the soldiers for the sake of their homeland. The one who would die for their families, the generations were wiped out. But today the one whos desire is to kill remain hidden from the damages of war. The heavily trained merciless bodies programmed to kill only follow the orders. Only the humans who were dragged into the pit of war could see the blood, dead bodies piled up like trash. The ones who pulled the strings live out their life like a grand celebration, full of glamour. But let me tell you here we face the worst nightmares.
From the history, it is known that people don’t give a damn about others death. Death of a single person may drive a community or nation depending upon the person’s importance. For warlords the way is simple. Make sure the deaths are high and those who will raise the voice, shut them down with the fear of their devastation. The wicked spell that can paralyze someone easily. Worked every time.
The roots of war are not always in the territory or power but in communication and our look out towards each other. If we communicate by pointing guns at each other’s head then we are unfortunate to kill each other. But if we let our minds and hearts open then our ideas will unite like hand holding each other to make an unbreakable bond.
